Central Asia

Central Asia, or Middle Asia, comprises the the former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The region has a deep and diverse heritage and covers key areas of the Silk Road trade routes.

NODEPA currently operates in Uzbekistan, a country that, through significant reforms the last decade, has become more accessible to foregin investment and collaboration on government-led reforms.

One of the areas identified to be in need of improvements is the access to quality early childhood education. Only 30% of children in Uzbekistan attend preschool. NODEPA operates three Learning Centers that provide quality education to ensure young children reach their full potential.

There is also a great need in primary health care for training, and for implementation of evidence-based medicine. NODEPA provides evidence-based medicine training for health workers in collaboration with local partners.

NODEPA works continuously to recruit highly skilled professionals in key positions, primarily in the fields of healthcare and education.
